How to tell a Fake Power Balance Bracelet

Non fake Power Balance bracelets are supposed to allow natural balance to the body’s natural energy field and enable athletes to have better balance and flexibility as they perform their activities. These products rely upon hologram therapy, a pseudoscientific process that borrows from Eastern holistic health practices and physics theory. The effect of these products on the athletic prowess of a human being is similar to the effectiveness of the placebo effect, and so the ability to spot fake power balances is very important, as the unawares customer might never realize they bought a fake.
These cost near $60, and so the importance of spotting a fake power balance is evident and apparent. Unfortunately, the price is usually the best indication as whether or not you have been ripped off. These are sold usually always at MSRP, and if you are approached by a shifty salesman or find yourself on a rather sketchy website and end up paying $30, it is almost definitely a scam.

A black hologram on your pb is a sure sign you have a imitation.  The discoloring in caused by poor manufacturing conditions when they are assembling the hologram.  These unfavorable climate conditions cause inferior quality writstbands.

A few signs that are less obvious deal with the logo on the product and the texture of the plastic. Ensure that there are no easily viewable fault lines on the inside of the bracelet, and make sure the logo on the circular part of the bracelet exactly matches an official example of the power balance logo. This is where the hologram is printed, and fraudulent parties hoping to recreate the fake power bracelet will often make a mistake in matching the logo. Also, ensure that the color of the bracelet is one of the standard hues, available from power balance’s website, and that it does not stretch permanently or wear down extremely quickly, as fakes are usually constructed from much cheaper types of plastic.

Sorry but this is nonsense! I bought mine from the official French Powerbalance site 10 months ago and either the hologram or the inside of the transparent part encapsulating it is turning black. I know a few other people who have experienced the same thing yet the French support staff never reply to messages submitted via their form so nobody knows why it is happening.

In one case, a guy who had his only 3 months found that both holograms turned completely black. Some research on his part appears to indicate it has something to do with the skin’s PH value (acidity).
